Smaldone & Falcone: Crossing The Line: Show Open

SMALDONE & FALCONE: CROSSING THE LINE

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

With literally dozens of programs about crime on television each week and always on the news, the public has demonstrated it has a ravenous appetite for the subject. Radio, to date, has not served this audience.

Each week the goal of co-hosts Jack Garcia and Valerie Smaldone will be to entertain and inform this vast and dedicated audience base. They will welcome different guests from the world of criminal cases, crime fighters, leading experts, detective book authors (both fiction and non-fiction), attorneys, public figures and even the occasional real-life criminal. In addition to an interview/discussion with each week’s guests, Jack and Valerie will field questions called in and emailed from listeners.

Former FBI undercover agent Jack Garcia has over 25 years of experience bringing all sorts of criminals to justice. Co-host and New York City radio veteran Valerie Smaldone will bring out Jack’s take on crime and the justice system to the listening audience as well as the callers and guests.

This format has never been done before and is a fresh angle for radio: A talk show that will delve into both the criminal mind as well as that of the law enforcer and will marry information with entertainment, uncovering the unique insights and incredible body of knowledge that Jack Garcia, decorated FBI agent, has to share with his audience. His stories and perspective are simply mesmerizing.

Popular radio host Valerie Smaldone will draw them out, while setting up the interviews and callers and uncovering the myriad fascinating experiences Jack underwent during his long and prestigious career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Though Jack has referred to Valerie and himself as “Beauty and the Beast,” the two co-hosts have a great chemistry and respect for each other’s talent and perspective- even when they may passionately disagree on a particular topic.

Between the astonishing subject matter, the compelling guests who will appear and the “yin and yang” of the hosts,
Crossing The Line is sure to light up caller switchboards and fire up station ratings in each of their markets.

MAKING JACK FALCONE

An Undercover FBI Agent Takes Down a Mafia Family

"Petey Chops wasn't kicking up. And if he didn't start soon, he was going to get whacked." So begins Making Jack Falcone, the extraordinary true story of an undercover FBI agent's years-long investigation of the Gambinos, which resulted in a string of arrests that crippled the organized crime family.

But long before Joaquin "Jack" Garcia found himself wearing a wire with some of the Mafia's top capos, he was one of the FBI's unlikeliest recruits. A Cuban-born American, Jack graduated from Quantico standing six-foot-four and weighing 300 pounds -- not your typical G-man. Jack's stature soon proved an asset as the FBI looked to place agents undercover with drug smugglers, counterfeiters, and even killers. Jack became one of the few FBI agents dedicated solely to undercover work.
